We love this spot in the heart of the city. Its vibrant, romantic vibe is unique and so are their cocktails and coffee brews. 3. LOLA HI/LO LOUNGE:
Lola’s is definitely a unique place for a date and it’s relatively new to Madison. We love this Vinyl bar with its hip atmosphere, fantastic cocktails and shareable plates of pizza, noodles and baskets. A fun fact is that the owner, Lola Otto (87) still bartends every night. Lola’s Hi/Lo Lounge also pays homage to the Jazz Kissa concept and listening bars in Tokyo, where customers listen quietly and attentively to vinyl played on high-fidelity speakers.

Don’t miss their “Tango for Two” date special.
10. THE HARVEY HOUSE:
This is fancy, elegant, and so much more! The Harvey House in Madison is a high-end, modern reimagining of a classic Wisconsin supper club, uniquely housed in a renovated historic 1900s train baggage handler’s building. It features a glass-enclosed dining area on a former train platform and a private dining room inside a 1960s train car. Not sure it can get any more unique than this. The atmosphere is chic with a cute bar with an amazing dinner and wine menu that beats every foodie’s imagination. A must-date-to-try!

The Merchant is a perfect date spot to share a conversation over wine, a cocktail and a bite to share. This place is unique in decor and the bar is a beautiful setting. The outside is hip and vibrant in the summer. Later at night, this place turns into a night club, often with a live DJ which makes it super fun and unique in our books.
12. AHAN:
Ahan meaning “food” in Lao is a special spot at the edge of downtown Madison on artsy Willy Street. Their dishes are out of this world and the fragrance you experience the minute you step into this place takes you around half the world. Their cocktails are to die for but so is their sticky rice with mango and custard to finish any of their authentic and beautiful dishes. A culinary experience and definetley a romantic place to share a date.

Owned by the same family, Gib’s and Grandpa’s go together! Once you step outside, you see the Capitol and it makes a romantic stroll by night after one of the best experiences you will ever have. Sushi Red deserves 10 out of 10 stars for a romantic date spot and sushi lovers.
15. NATTSPIL:
A “hole” in the wall and dark with candles and music from vinyls and live DJ’s. This is our top spot for a late night date with small devious bites to share, unique pizza and noodle dish creations with a vibe that is hard to beat. Bring your reading classes because it is definitely dark and when you get this first kiss it won’t even get noticed. This place is so unique it doesn’t have a website or an outside sign. Right in the heart of downtown and seconds from the Capitol.
