43rd Season of Concerts on the Square

June 24 @ 3:00 pm - July 29 @ 9:30 pm

From Piano Men Legends and Madison hip-hop to Parisian Jazz and Gershwin, this season has it all.

The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra is excited to announce the lineup for the 43rd season of Concerts on the Square. Concerts will take place on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM starting June 24, 2026 and ending on July 29, 2026 on the King Street corner of Capitol Square and are free and open to the public. On each concert day, unattended blankets can be put down starting at 3 PM, the street is closed to traffic at 5 PM, and the performance begins at 7 PM. The WCO will have limited reserved seating available for those with accessibility needs located on the King Street corner of Capitol Square. Any calls made by the WCO to postpone to the performance rain date will be made by 3 PM on the day of the performance. For the full season schedule and lineup, see below.

Support Concerts on the Square

  • Table Reservations are available to the general public. They’re also tax-deductible contributions that go towards supporting the event series. Contribution levels and table sizes vary depending on their location. For more information visit wcoconcerts.org/tables
  • Sponsorships are available for individuals and businesses and more information can be found at wcoconcerts.org/sponsorship
  • Play Your Part – Individual Donations The WCO encourages the community to make a donation in support of Concerts on the Square. Donations can be made as single-time gift or recurring and for as little as $5 a month by visiting wcoconcerts.org/friends or texting WCOFRIENDS to 53555.

June 24 – Joel & John: Piano Men Legends         Jeans ‘n Classics
The 2026 Season kickoff features a no-holds-barred celebration of two piano-rock legends. Jeans ’n Classics joins the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra for a hit-packed night of Billy Joel and Elton John favorites—from Scenes from an Italian Restaurant to Tiny Dancer and Bennie and the Jets, audiences can expect big hooks and even bigger choruses. With a crowd that’s bound to know every word—this will be quite a way to kick off the season.

July 1 – United in Sound           Madison hip-hop artist, Rob Dz
Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a Concerts on the Square tradition! From the Star-Spangled Banner and Armed Forces Salute to the thunderous 1812 Overture and Stars and Stripes Forever, this program pairs patriotic favorites with contemporary American voices and spotlights Madison hip-hop artist RobDz. A night to gather, listen, and celebrate together in the heart of our Capitol.

July 8 – Duo D’Amore with Strings             Suzanne Beia, violin & Karl Lavine, cello
Concertmaster and violinist Suzanne Beia and principal cellist Karl Lavine step into the spotlight for a program of truly classical gems at the peak of our season. From Donizetti’s intimate Concertino in D Minor for Violin and Cello to Dvořák’s heartfelt Romance in F Minor for Violin, this summer evening celebrates the artistry of our own musicians and rich talents of the orchestra.

July 15 – Under Paris Skies      Tim Kliphuis, violin
Enchantée! Step into a night of Parisian sparkle with the orchestra and guest violinist Tim Kliphuis. Blending gypsy jazz, swing, folk, and classical elegance, the program features music by Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, and Kliphuis himself, all wrapped in vibrant orchestral color. Lyrical, playful, and full of energy, this evening captures the rhythm and charm of the swinging thirties in Paris.

July 22 – Hollywood Hits          Angelina Chang, piano
Summer is blockbuster season! Join us for Hollywood Hits, where the silver screen comes to life on Capitol Square and we shine the light on emerging talent with the winner of our Young Artist Concerto Competition. From classics such as Ben Hur and Casablanca to modern-day favorites like Jordan Peele’s Nope, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars—this cinematic concert delivers nonstop thrills. It’s a night for film fans, music lovers, and anyone who gets chills when the music swells.

July 29 – Rhapsody Squared             Stewart Goodyear, piano
Close the season on the grand piano with pianist Stewart Goodyear taking center stage. Featuring Goodyear’s own genre-blending works—offering a sneak peek of an upcoming WCO recording—this program builds toward one of the most iconic pieces in American music: Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Jazz-inflected, virtuosic, and unforgettable, it’s a piano marathon and a bold and satisfying sendoff to summer on The Square.
